Online baccarat rules are very much similar to baccarat played at a live casino. The dealer first mixes the cards. All the players have then to place their bets, either on the bank or the player. Next, each player will receive two cards for the hand while the player may choose to draw a third card. The aim of the game is to draw cards to get as close a total to 9 as possible.

Each card has a particular value; the ace is always valued at one, the Kings, Queens and Jacks are counted as ten, while the other cards are counted at their indicated value. If the total of the cards is more than 10, then only the last digit of the total will be considered. For example, a 9 and 5 totals 14, but the score for that hand will be 4. So, in baccarat, you will never get a score that is too high.

It is not necessary to draw a third card if the score is 8 or 9, a hand that is termed as natural. You can draw the third card in baccarat only if the total score of the first two cards is less than or equal to 5.
